During the 3rd quarter of each year, Mr.
Bible runs basketball on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:00 PM
in the gym. Parents must provide written permission and
arrange for transportation home. Boys and girls play together,
new teams are chosen each day, games are 6 minutes each, and new
teams rotate in after each game. This year has been very
successful. We have about 40 students participating and Mr.
Collopy has helped make the experience valuable for every child. |

Each teacher chooses one student from the
class to receive this award. It is typically presented to a
student who has demonstrated some particular quality or a variety of
qualities that make a "good student." The teacher
presents the award at the monthly Awards Assembly and gives a brief
summary describing the qualities of the student. |
|

|
During the monthly Awards Assembly,
students who have had perfect attendance--no absences or tardies--for
the entire month are recognized. Each teacher names all of the
students who qualify for this award. Students stand at their
seats when their names are called. Each student also receives
a certificate from the teacher. |
|

|
Throughout each month, adults may choose to
complete "Caught Being Good" slips for any student who has
demonstrated an unsolicited behavior above the expectations.
These slips are saved in a box in the Teacher's Lounge. At the
monthly Awards Assembly, each Student of the Month draws one slip
from the box. The student whose name is on the slip receives a
prize, usually donated by our business Partner in Education, The
William M. Mercer Co. |
